A research area closely related to Intelligent Agents is Cooperative Distributed Problem Solving (CDPS) where researchers have been working on how to coordinate multiple autonomous agents using negotiation, cooperation and other techniques . Negotiation protocols between multiple autonomous agents are necessary to link Intelligent agents to workflow models.
